World’s Largest Shopping Mall is Planned in Dubai
Dubai, one of the richest regions in the world, wants to build their largest mall in the world in a shopping complex and gardens larger than Hyde Park in London, the emirate, trying in this way, to revitalize the real estate market locked after the global financial crisis of 2008-2009.
Emaar Properties, the largest property developer in the UAE by market share, and Dubai Holding Group will build in partnership district “Mohammed Bin Rashid City“, which takes the name of Dubai Sheikh. The project will be located near the center of Dubai and includes 100 hotels, residential areas and green spaces larger than Hyde Park.
Among the new projects announced in the last two months in the Emirates include a replica of the Taj Mahal, four times higher than the original. According to the plan, Mohammed Bin Rashid City will have a total area of 5.1 square kilometers and will include the largest art gallery complex in the Middle East and North Africa. The so-called “Mall of the World” will serve each year 80 million customers, according to the draft.
