Volkswagen XL1 Concept Vehicle
Flanked by celebrities Rose Byrne, Padma Lakshmi, Chloe Sevigny, and Lucy Lui, carmaker Volkswagen unveiled its XL1 prototype at this week’s celebratory dinner at Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City.
While the vehicle made its global debut at Doha, Qatar earlier this year, the New York City event marked the XL1′s first appearance to the consuming public. So people of the Volkswagen, can be proud that in the era of hybrid and electric cars have failed to fulfill its promise to make a machine litru/100 km because ,according to statements by officials, VW XL1 is very close of a possible mass production.
The propulsion system is a plug-in hybrid, consisting of a two-cylinder TDI engine with 48 hp associated with an electric motor of 27 hp (20 kW), powered by a lithium-ion battery pack (which can be loaded from an external source when the car is parked).
Transmission is ensured by a dual-clutch automatic gearbox and 7-speed DSG for the greatest possible efficiency. The only unknown remains the price it would have a potential production model.Given the advanced technology available to the new concept and expensive materials, VW XL1 is likely to be much more expensive than current electric car.
