Villa CP by Zest Architecture in Girona, Spain
Zest Architecture have successfully transformed an old farmhouse into a lovely home for a modern family. Called Villa CP, the residence was once a traditional Catalan farm building, made of stone and looking absolutely beautiful in its rustic setting.
The architects kept much of the structure’s original charm, including its rugged stone walls and massive ceiling beams, and then they embellished all that with modern amenities and contemporary touches. The balance is perfect and the result inspiring.
Since the views are breathtaking, Zest Architecture felt compelled to create many generous opening towards them. From the house people can see the Mediterranean Sea in the distance, as well as a beautiful National Park of cork oak.
The architecture company is a big fan of responsible building, so the restored villa also boasts some really great sustainable features. These include a geothermal installation for interior cooling and heating, locally harvested and produced cork for insulation, and a natural pool, whose water is filtered by gravel and plants. We are completely sold.
