The largest pool in the world
A strech of water that measures nearly a kilometer long,it shows this huge pool.Without to be a surprise “San Alfonso del Mar” in Algarrobo,Chile is the largest pool open in the world.
It is strechs over a total area of 800 hectares ,which is equivalent with 6.000 pools . Pool measuring not less than 35 meters deep.Creating a pool of this size lasted five years and cost around $ 2 billion, plus annual maintenance costs – yet 2 billion. This amazing pool holds 66 million gallons of water. Its turquoise waters are so crystal clear that you can see the bottom even in the deep end.
The saltwater pool contains 250,000 cubic metres of water and is navigable in small boats. Chile’s monster pool uses a computer- controlled suction and filtration system to keep fresh seawater in permanent circulation, drawing it in from the ocean at one end and pumping it out at the other. The sun warms the water to 26c.Sounds good, isn’t it? The revolutionary clear water artificial lagoons, transparent to a depth of 35 meters and unprecedented in design and construction methods, are the brainchild of Crystal Lagoons founder, biochemist and Chilean businessman Fernando Fischmann. This is a paradise!
