The Amazing Magnetic Tray – Never Drop a Dish Again

Designed with the service industry in mind, the Magnetic Tray allows anyone to become a professional server.  Through the use of clever and ingenious magnets placed in the perfect location, this tray can prevent your dishes from sliding off even at a 45 degree angle.  This is sure to save you from at least a few accidents that will inevitably happen in your future.

This magnetic tray was created by Ryan Jongwoo Choi, and it certainty seems like something the human race could’ve done with for a few centuries. The magic to the magnetic tray happens when you life the tray.  By pressing down on each side, the magnetic fields are activated and the objects on the tray are held in place.  The tray is made of plywood and can hold up to two cups and two plates or bowls.  Only thing is, you won’t be able to use your own plates and bowls unless they’re made of metal.  The tray itself comes with these pieces that have magnetic rings attached to the bottom so as to keep them attached to the tray.

This is a fantastic idea, and I’m hoping that I’ll be able to pick one up.  I’m not so sure that the service industry would be able to convert their wares to the bowls and plates that are required for this tray to work, but it is definitely a good idea.  Perhaps someone will lead the way in the service industry by picking up Ryan Jongwoo Choi’s idea and implement it in their restaurants.
