The house was sketched out by architects from Shope Reno Wharto, and it appeared in the Architectural Digest June 2009 edition and in a more recent Wall Street Journal. The building process was carried out by Russ Cooper of Kiawah and his team, and they did a fantastic job covering the place with handmade Savannah Grey bricks along with weathered red cedar shingle and shake.

The abode ensures 15,000 square feet of living space and a 5,000 square foot outdoor living area boasting an infinity pool, balconies, pavilions and porches. There is also a guesthouse with two bathrooms, a bedroom with sitting area, a pool, a fitness room and a fully equipped kitchen. Parking is never a problem thanks to the spacious 5-car garage.

The interiors were designed by Jacquelynne P. Lanham Designs from Atlanta, and we have to admit the house looks absolutely gorgeous. Accommodations consist of 11 luxe bathrooms and 7 lavish bedrooms. The home flaunts exquisite woodwork, flooring and paneling including mahogany walnut, old oak and burnished hardwood elements. Additionally, the windows allow for an unhindered flow of natural light throughout, and they were made by Tischler and Sohn from Germany. Conveniences include a wine cellar, a state-of-the-art kitchen, a mahogany-paneled study, an office and a butler’s pantry.
