Omega Unveils 2 New Watches Ahead of Baselworld 2014
In anticipation of the prestigious Baselworld 2014 event, famed watchmaker Omega decided to unveil 2 of its upcoming timepieces called Constellation “Pluma” and Speedmaster Mark II. The Pluma timepiece was named after the Latin word for feather, which is why it boasts elegant feather-like wavy lines across its mother-of-pear dial. The dials of the Pluma comes in either white or blue shades, and they are encompassed within 27 mm cases. Moreover, the hour, minute and seconds hands are made out of 18k gold and boast Super-LumiNova treatments for extra visibility in low light conditions.
As far as the Speedmaster Mark II is concerned, we can tell you that it is powered by a hand-wound caliber 861 borrowed from Omega’s Moonwatch. The 2014 version of this 1969 classic will also flaunt a highly useful tachymetric scale that will be easily visible in the dark.
