Nike OHSU Doernbecher 2014 Freestyle Collection
For over a decade now Nike and Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Doernbecher Children’s Hospital have been working together to raise money and awareness to help young patients feel empowered, to acquire state-of-the-art medical equipment, fun research, cover care expenses for poor families, and more.
Their collaboration consists of creating sneaker and apparel collections that are inspired and designed by the young patients themselves. These program has raised over $8 million since its inception, and it is still doing wonderfully. This year is the 11th time patients were called to come up with engaging new designs inspired from their own lives. Six brilliant young designers have created six beautiful Doernbecher collections: Addie Peterson, Alejandro Muñoz, Melissa (Missy) Mille, Caden Lampert, Tim Haarmann, and Chase Crouch.
You can see their work in the gallery, and you will be able to buy your favorite pieces starting November 23, after the official launch. Bear in mind that each purchase represents another instance of support for the cause. The items will become available online, on the Nike website, as well as in select Nike retail stores.
