Mobile Handheld Inkless Printer – Meet the Polaroid Zip
What are the two main problems that current printers have today? One, they’re too large and bulky and don’t allow you to take them with you, and two, they require you to have ink, an expensive product that the corporations manufacturing it have profited greatly from. But how do you use a printer without ink? Introducing the newest mobile handheld inkless printer, the Polaroid Zip. With the use of a high resolution camera phone, now you can take pictures and immediately have them in your hands, ready for scrap booking or showing your friends!
The printer is about the size of a mobile phone, and it uses Bluetooth or NFC technology to print your picture in less than a minute. Since you don’t have to buy ink cartridges, you’ll be saving money on that for sure. However, you do have to buy ZINK paper, which is just special sized Polaroid print paper for the Zip. At about $20 for 50 sheets, you’ll definitely still save money from not buying ink, so that’s good. You have to remember that ink cartridges are also annoying to have to deal with, so there’s that too.
The Polaroid Zip can print individual 2″ x 3″ prints or use an associated app that allows to create large collages. Every sheet from the Zip is also a sticker, so you can peel off the back and stick it on a wall or a piece of paper. Launching on May 1, which is right around the corner, if you want to pick one of these up for yourself you’ll have to drop $130 USD. This is a great product, and we just had to feature it on RareDelights. We miss the Polaroid. Let’s bring it back. Who likes to mess with ink cartridges anyways?
