Light, Powerful and Beautiful 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale
Even though plenty of tuning companies struggle to perfect Ferrari’s designs and their cars’ performance capabilities, nothing compares to a high-performance model created by the famed Italian company itself. The 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale is a lighter and more powerful version of the Ferrari 458 Italia model, and it definitely has the potential to become one of the most extraordinary supercars in existence.
Even though it features the same engine as the 458 Italia, the Speciale has 34 more horsepower than its counterpart, which means that it houses no less than 596 prancing horses under its hood. In addition, the car’s interior was stripped down of about 200 pounds of weight, which means that the Speciale is no heavier than 3,075 lbs in total. This translates to some very impressive performance figures, such as 2.9 seconds sprint from 0-60 and a top speed of 202 mph. The massive power of the 4.5-liter V8 is kept in check by a high-end 7-speed automatic gearbox that is connected to the rear wheels.
But apart from low weight and incredible power, the Speciale also boasts some of the curviest shapes ever implemented on a Ferrari vehicle, which means that the car has fantastic aerodynamic properties. Each and every inch of the car was designed to perfection in order to ensure a drag coefficient of 0.35.
The Ferrari 458 Speciale will be available for purchase starting summer 2014, and it will come with an estimated price tag of $298,000.
