KTM 1290 Super Duke R Prototype Motorbike
When unveiled at the EICMA and Intermot, the outstanding KTM 1290 Super Duke R prototype motorcycle is now ready for production. The trellis-framed naked bike combines extreme lightness with outstanding power, resulting in very impressive speeds.
Powering the motorcycle is a 1,290cc RC8R V-twin engine that can put out between 180 and 200 hp. Other features include new prototype WP suspension at both the front and rear, drive-by-wire, disengageable electronic riding assistance, and a lot of carbon fiber replacing the original, heavier materials.
To make it even more lightweight, its manufacturer also used chrome molybdenum trellis frame, thus helping lower its weight to only 200 kg (440 lbs), full gas tank included. Interested customers will have to wait another year for the new bike to reach showrooms.
