Innovative Super Yacht Design by VasilyKlyukin
Luxury yachts are definitely covetable proofs of status, but one can’t help but notice that they all look essentially the same. Not in details, of course, but in general structure and design features. On the other hand, it is very difficult to stray from the classic way to do things without turning a symbol of wealth and elegance into something tacky and ridiculous.
Thankfully, there is someone out there who is not afraid to experiment with shape and functionality when it comes to luxury vessels. That someone is Russian entrepreneur Vasily Klyukin, and his concepts are truly inspiring. Each of his design propositions has a clear, instantly-recognizable theme and we’re sure there will be someone out there to want a personal yacht like that.
Take for instance the intimidating 246-foot long Red Shark concept: it speaks volumes of the world it represents. As Klyukin himself puts it, “there are no dolphins in the big money world; the sharks are all over the place.”
For those who are not poised to intimidate on the seas, other options may seem more appropriate. There is the lovely retro-designed Mississippi yacht, the luminous Manhattan vessel with a skyline profile, the avant-garde White Swan, the modernist Mondrian (named after the Dutch painter), and the supercar-like Blue Bird. So take your pick. If you want a closer look at the entire series, make sure you’ll be there at the Monaco Yacht Show in September.
