Cozy and Luxurious Butterfly Beach Residence in Montecito
Luxurious, comfortable and outfitted with state-of-the-art amenities and facilities, the Butterfly Beach Residence was designed by Maienza-Wilson Interior Design + Architecture and built in Montecito, Santa Barbara County, California.
Apart from its gorgeous exterior layout and luxurious interior accommodations, this lavish abode manages to impress with a high degree of self-sustainability. This was achieved thanks to a series of high-end facilities such as highly efficient photovoltaic solar panels, radiant floor heating and flat roofs with grasses. Furthermore, the house was insulated using Icynene spray foam, which ensures very efficient heat storage during the cold months.
As far as irrigation is concerned, there is a 5,000-gallon cistern placed underneath the building that is used to store rainwater. This rainwater is in turn used to irrigate the nearby garden, ensuring it would never dry out during the hot summer days.
Thanks to its sophisticated layout and high degree of independence from outside energy sources, the Butterfly Beach Residence earned LEED certification at level Platinum, which made it the first ever residence in Montecito to receive such a distinguished recognition. The house is currently on the market with a fitting price tag of $9 million. Have a quick look at the following images and admire it for yourself!
